# Connect HouseExhale manually Name: HouseExhale Server URL: https://houseexhale.com/mcp Transport: Streamable HTTP (called HTTP or http in some clients) Authentication: None. No API key, account, OAuth, custom headers or local server required. Setup page: https://houseexhale.com/ai#manual-setup ## Claude In Claude's Connectors settings, add a custom connector named HouseExhale with the server URL above. If asked for authentication, choose None. Availability depends on your plan and workspace permissions. For Claude Code, run: ```sh claude mcp add --transport http --scope user houseexhale https://houseexhale.com/mcp ``` Then use /mcp to check the connection. For a project-only configuration, merge this entry into .mcp.json rather than replacing existing servers: ```json { "mcpServers": { "houseexhale": { "type": "http", "url": "https://houseexhale.com/mcp" } } } ``` ## ChatGPT On the web, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. Some accounts show Apps instead. Enter HouseExhale and the server URL, select No authentication, review the connection notice, and create the connection. Workspace permissions may limit custom connections. In a new chat, select HouseExhale from the available tools/plugins. ## VS Code / GitHub Copilot Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP, and enter the server URL. Or merge this into .vscode/mcp.json: ```json { "servers": { "houseexhale": { "type": "http", "url": "https://houseexhale.com/mcp" } } } ``` Review the server trust prompt, start it and enable its tools in the chat. ## Check it Ask: "My bedroom averaged 1,240 ppm while I slept. What should I try first?" The assistant should call explain_co2_reading and explain the 800 ppm precautionary goal, with a free change to try while keeping the bedroom door shut. The goal is not a health limit. The public server exposes five tools: explain_co2_reading, check_ventilation_unit, units_to_ask_about, find_installers and find_rebates. An optional terminal check lists those tools: ```sh curl 'https://houseexhale.com/mcp' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' --data '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}' ``` ## Troubleshooting - Opening /mcp in a web browser takes you to the setup page; paste /mcp into your assistant's server URL field. - Choose Streamable HTTP, not a legacy SSE-only connection. Do not append /sse. - If the client asks for a key or sign-in, use the public /mcp URL and None for authentication. The public connection cannot read or save your HouseExhale journal. - If no tools appear, reconnect or restart the client and check workspace permissions. A client without MCP Apps support can still use the text answers. - Installer and rebate information covers the United States. Unknown coverage or eligibility stays unknown.
